What this covers, and what it does not

The calculation is deliberately narrow. It values one thing: the repeat hours a cell takes on. A real assessment covers more.

What it counts

Weekly repeat hours multiplied by your loaded hourly cost and your working weeks, set against the investment you enter.

What it leaves out

Output, quality, scrap, rework, downtime, maintenance, and finance. A cell that improves consistency can be worth more than the hours suggest.

What sits around the cell

Fixtures, tooling, guarding, part presentation, and material flow are part of a real investment figure. Include them in the number you enter.

Use realistic figures

The result is only as good as the inputs. Be conservative about the hours that genuinely move into the cell, and realistic about what the whole system costs.

Repeat hours
Count only the work that is stable enough to run in a cell. Setup, changeovers, first-off checks, and the jobs that stay manual do not belong in this figure.
Loaded hourly cost
The full cost of that hour of work, not the wage alone.
System investment
The robot, process equipment, fixtures, tooling, safety, and installation. A robot price on its own understates it.
Working weeks
Allow for shutdowns and holidays rather than assuming a full year.

How the calculation works and what it does not tell you.

What does this calculator work out?

It compares the investment you enter against the value of the repeat hours you expect to move into the cell. It gives a simple payback period on recovered labour capacity, using only the figures you type in.

Why are the fields empty?

Uru Robotics has not published system prices or labour rates, so the calculator does not assume any. Use your own figures for the investment, the hours, and the loaded hourly cost of that work.

What does it leave out?

Output, quality, scrap, rework, downtime, maintenance, finance, and the fixtures, tooling, guarding, and material flow around the cell. All of those affect a real assessment.

Is the result a quote?

No. It is a planning estimate from your own inputs. It is not a price, a return promise, or a substitute for a proper assessment of the task.

What is a loaded hourly cost?

The full hourly cost of the work being moved, not just the wage. Include the employment costs you would normally carry alongside it.
